The Little Caesars Pizza company spreads the love to the homeless women and their children at ACCESS, Inc.

The first time a person enters a homeless shelter their life is turned on its side. Everything they once knew as typical and routine is gone and life is now full of unknowns. At ACCESS, Inc., a homeless shelter for women and children,  a main goal is to give clients the normalcy of life outside of shelter walls.

“ACCESS is thrilled to have the Love Kitchen come visit,” said Lynn Budnick, acting executive director. “It’s a wonderful service and our clients are ecstatic.”

Residents’ lives before entering the shelter included things like going to baseball games, enjoying the company of good friends and having pizza delivered for lunch.

Thanks to Little Caesars Pizza, some of that normalcy is being restored. The fun and luxury of warm pizza delivered right to ACCESS resident’s front door at no charge is being offered by Little Caesars. The company’s “Love Kitchen” is literally rolling into ACCESS on Wed., Aug. 6 to treat clients to an afternoon of food and fun. The Love Kitchen is a pizza restaurant on wheels and was established in 1985 to feed the homeless and hungry in United States and Canada. The Love Kitchen has been able to feed 1.5 million people in need – and will be adding a few more to that number this Wednesday.

“At the heart of Little Caesars Pizza’s philosophy is a deep commitment to give back to the communities that sustain our business,” excerpt from the Little Caesar’s Web site. “In addition to visiting soup kitchens and homeless shelters, the Love Kitchen also responds to disasters, including the recent hurricanes in the Gulf Coast area, the site of the World Trade Center attacks on September 11, 2001, and the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building bombing in Oklahoma City in 1995.”

“ACCESS is thrilled to have the Love Kitchen come visit,” said Lynn Budnick, acting executive director. “It’s a wonderful service and our clients are ecstatic.”
