Like many young people, Tiana struggled to find her footing in life. She ended up dropping out of high school. She had two children back to back and then found the strength to return to school to earn her diploma. She had no job and no home. She was drifting from house to house. Finally things started to look up when she found employment at a temp agency. She was unable to maintain the job because she could not find affordable child care. After being mistreated and tossed from one place to the next, she decided she had had enough. She left with no money and no clothes and came to ACCESS.
When she came to ACCESS she felt hopeless and defeated. She immediately took advantage of the services offered. The staff helped her build a resume, find work, and find housing. She learned to budget and received housing through a program called ACCESS HOME. Now she lives in a two bedroom home with her children. They love it there. Tiana enjoys being a part of the community. She feels stable for the first time in a long time.
Big or small, every donation to ACCESS and the homeless women and children it serves will be greatly appreciated.
