AT THE 3RD ANNUAL JEWELRY BOX, YOU CAN SHOP MORE THAN 25,000 PIECES OF JEWELRY FOR JUST $5 EACH

Oct 15th, 2018

For the last two years on the first weekend of November, I’ve spent the afternoon surrounded by friends shopping thousands of pieces of gorgeous jewelry—from bracelets, rings and necklaces to broaches and watches— all priced at $5 to benefit Akron’s homeless shelter for women and children, ACCESS.

And this year? The event is back, and it's bigger than ever as more than 25,000 pieces of donated jewelry have been pouring in from community members across Northeast Ohio.

The Jewelry Box, a community-wide jewelry sale hosted by ACCESS is coming to the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel - Akron/Fairlawn for one day only, Saturday, November 3, 2018.

Plus, all proceeds from the event benefit ACCESS and its community commitment to provide a holistic, safe and supportive environment to women and children in its shelter.

Almost as thrilling as finding gems (like the Brighton necklace and gold stackable rings that I’m currently wearing. Yes, both were just $5!), is finding treasures to gift to loved ones.

One of my new favorite family traditions is choosing a piece for each woman in my family, and sharing it with them on Christmas Eve.

Each jewelry purchase during the event also comes with a gift box and a note that reads,

"100% of proceeds from the purchase of this jewelry benefit the homeless women and children served by ACCESS."

Lynn Budnick, Executive Director of ACCESS, shared, “At least once a week, supporters come up to me—pointing at a necklace or ring—and say, ‘This was $5!’ It’s an absolutely unforgettable day, and our Jewelry Box shoppers know that every time a piece of jewelry is worn from this event, that it’s not just a necklace or a bracelet. It’s a symbol of gratitude, empowerment and the commitment we all share to serve families in need in our community.”

Sponsored by Fred Martin Superstore, all of the donated jewelry is cleaned by volunteers, including employees from longtime ACCESS supporter, Signet Jewelers. Like last year, the artfully-displayed treasures will include thousands of pieces of costume jewelry priced at just $5 each, plus individually-priced fine jewelry and pieces by local jewelry artists.

Now the big question: How do you shop?
