Jackie Hemsworth to lead ACCESS Shelter

Apr 05th, 2019

Jackie Hemsworth has been named the next executive director of ACCESS Shelter, a Northeast Ohio homeless shelter for women and children.

Hemsworth, previously director of advancement for the organization, has been the acting interim executive director since February 2019, when the previous leader, Lynn Budnick, died after having cancer, according to a news release.

Hemsworth, who has been with the organization for four years, has more than 15 years of experience working in homeless service provision, according to the release. In her previous role, she was responsible for overseeing fundraising efforts for local and federal grants, events and private donations.

"I believe strongly in the mission of ACCESS to empower homeless women to take control of their futures," Hemsworth said in a prepared statement. "It's an honor to hold this position, and I'm thrilled by the opportunity and challenges ahead. I look forward to working with our incredible team as we support ACCESS families and women with the time and opportunities they need to start their next chapter."
