Mashona
Mashona arrived at ACCESS with her 10-year-old son determined to build a better future. Working closely with her on-site case manager, she secured permanent housing in less than a month.
“I was down… at the bottom,” Mashona shared. “I knew that if I came here, it would help me.”
When asked what meant the most during her time at ACCESS, Mashona didn't hesitate to recognize the staff—especially her case manager, Tina.
“They showed compassion for me and my son and made us feel welcome.”
Today, Mashona says she has found peace in her new home and is excited for what lies ahead. To others who are staying in a shelter and rebuilding their lives, she offers this encouragement:
“Stay positive. I didn’t know what this experience would be like, but I didn’t let it consume me. Stay focused on your goals, because better things will come.”
