Nancy

After leaving Las Vegas following the death of her fiancé, Nancy returned to her home state of Ohio. During the pandemic, finding work was difficult and Nancy quickly found herself homeless for the first time in her life. Nancy arrived at ACCESS, with her service dog, Chi-Chi, and immediately adapted.

Despite her significant health struggles, one of the things Nancy became known for at ACCESS was her positivity and affirmations. She could be found delivering positive messages to those around her, including ACCESS staff. Nancy used her strong relationships with the ACCESS case managers to find her own place and utilized a referral to furnish it with furniture from Core Furniture Bank. After leaving ACCESS and reflecting on her time at the shelter, Nancy said of ACCESS, "This place can take you places."
