Shelly

Shelly arrived at ACCESS from Michigan after fleeing a domestic violence situation and experiencing her identity being stolen. She was determined to get back on her feet and create a home for her children. She took full advantage of the opportunities presented to her at ACCESS and created a great bond with the Childcare Advocate and the rest of the staff members at the shelter. Her children were also able to remain in school and utilize the tutors provided during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Shelly wasted no time, worked with her case worker and formed an Individualized Service Plan. Because of her determination and hard work, she ultimately was able to find permanent housing and a job after only being at ACCESS for a few weeks. Her dedication and resilience resulted in her having a safe home in which to raise her children.
